We may make plans and watch them fall apart, but God isn’t laughing at us—He’s laughing with us, knowing His plans are far greater than ours. When we surrender our dreams to Him, even detours become divine directions, and we can trust that His ways are higher, wiser, and full of joy.

Sometimes it feels like God is far away, but the truth is He’s never distant—we are. Through the Holy Spirit, God lives within us, guiding, teaching, and comforting us daily; all we have to do is draw near to Him, and He will draw near to us.

Faith, like fitness, requires consistency—if we want to grow closer to God, we have to be intentional about seeking Him daily through prayer, Scripture, and how we live. A relationship with God isn’t built on occasional effort but on continual, wholehearted pursuit—because Jesus was intentional with His love for us, even to the cross.

The more I scrubbed those lockers, the more dirt I saw—and it reminded me how the closer we grow to God, the more we see our own flaws. But that’s the beauty of grace: we’re not called to be perfect, only to pursue perfection by drawing nearer to Christ, who makes us whole.

Andy Mineo once said, “If you wanna live a comfortable life, make sure you never love nobody,”—but as Christians, we’re called to the opposite. Following Jesus means living uncomfortably—denying ourselves, loving selflessly, and carrying our cross daily—yet finding true comfort in the God who walks with us through it all.

Lecrae reminds us that faith is a journey, not a sprint—like a child learning to walk, we’ll stumble often, but God patiently helps us back up each time. Repentance isn’t a one-time act but a daily rhythm of growth, grace, and becoming more like Christ as we walk—sometimes crawl—closer to Him.
